The account services department is responsible for seeing that the client's needs are met accurately and on time, in order for the advertising to be on schedule it is important for the account services department to follow the in-house progress of the advertising campaign. Some positions you will find in the advertising account services department are as follows. First is the account executives or coordinators (there are many different names for this position) these people must be very organized and excellent communicators it is their duty to convey the advertising objective to the other departments. It is important the advertising account coordinators understand the goals of the advertisers and the product being sold.
It is extremely important for the account coordinators to be team players so that their clients’ needs are met in an efficient manner. Essentially it is their duty to make sure the client is happy and their needs are met, and they stay on budget with their advertising. The next step up the account services ladder is the senior account executive it is their duty to ensure the happiness of the client, they also take on larger more corporate accounts to serve these people typically have more experience and have been in the industry longer than the account executives. The final step within the adverting account services department is the department manager who is ultimately responsible for the success of the department. With no experience or education in the advertising industry account services department you could get and entry level position as an assistant or junior executive who works under the account services executive, they typically perform clerical duties for the executives or run proofs and errands.
