The errors that they make:
- Being unsure whether your advertising is working or not: the advertising managers give their advertisement on whichever media they select. After that they simply hope that their advertisement serves its purpose. Most of the advertising managers either do not know how to track the results or for some reason they are reluctant to do so.
- The solution to this: place a key on your advertisement. This will give you an idea that people are referring to your advertisement. You can use a coupon as a key. If you get back the coupons that will say that the advertisement is working. If you do not get back the coupon that will mean that your ad has not been noticed or has not been given that much importance by the people.
- They go on testing their advertisement and testing them more and more: you have to give it some time before it starts working. It needs sometime before it can come to public notice. You may think that your ad has become quite old, but other people may not think the same. It may be new to them.
- Solution: you must realize that there is intense competition in the market. And like everything else, the attitude of the customers also changes with time. So it becomes necessary to test products from time to time. So, a part of your target audience may not notice your advertisement. But this does not mean you will go on and on with your testing. You must take care of other things that are equally important to business.
- When will you advertise: most managers do not have much idea about when to advertise? Most people advertise in a grand way in the beginning. The grand opening is marked by the following:

- radio,
- TV,
- newspapers,
- contests and
- All other measures that will attract customers.
- Most of the advertising managers choose the wrong place for their advertisement: this can cause a lot of harm. You have to select a place for advertising which will come to the notice of your target audience.
- Solution: you must know your customers well enough. For this, make them fill up a survey sheet. You must know what radio station that listen to, which newspapers and magazines that go through etc. you have to create a profile of your target market. Ten only will your ad become a success.
