Position Summary

The Sr. Creative Lead, Copy is a masterful storyteller on Under Armour’s Global Creative Team who is motivated and energized by the power of sport and training. The Sr. Creative Lead’s creative work needs to carry the passion of the world’s greatest athletes—from this generation and the next—and the power to help inspire the very best in human performance.

The Sr. Creative Lead, Copy is obsessed with athletes, attitude, and authenticity at every customer touchpoint, especially digital. This versatile storyteller is also driven and unrelenting in the face of the challenges that balancing big projects and tight deadlines bring.

Under the Creative Director, the Sr. Creative Lead (Copy) will drive compelling, impactful creative content. The individual in this role will be fully dedicated to writing copy that puts the consumer at the center of every experience and is the best expression of UA’s brand voice to attract, engage, and convert our target demographic, the Focused Performer. These efforts include partnering with art directors, designers, content creators, and other writers to develop transformative storytelling executions and experiences that strengthen the brand’s emotional connection with the Focused Performer. Key collaboration in this role is the visibility it provides to the Global Copy Team to ensure cohesive storytelling across all channels/touchpoints.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Write, lead, and manage the development of on-brand copy and concepts (informed by our Brand Vision, Mission, and Values) across all digital, social, web, experiential, and print marketing platforms. This includes meeting with partners to align on marketing/creative strategy, as well as collaborating with creative and cross-functional partners to drive consumer-focused content strategy and execution.

Play a lead role in content strategy with Consumer Insights, Consumer Experience and our Marketing partners to ensure compelling, effective content is delivered to the Focused Performer.

Create and deliver presentations to pitch new concepts.

Provide leadership, direction, support and feedback to Copywriters at any time those teammates may be enlisted to deliver copy support to this role.

Be an advocate for the brand and an expert on our products—translate that understanding into concepts and actionable content and consumer experiences.

Interpret and influence creative briefs to create customer-focused positioning and creative communications strategies that drive defined KPIs.

The Sr. Creative Lead, Copy must be a writer with strong fundamental skills as well as demonstrated creative capabilities.

A high level of mastery is expected in the areas of strategic thinking, team leadership/influence, and a self-directed approach to individual/team project management.

Commitment to developing personal leadership skills and helping direct reports and/or writers at more junior job levels enrich their skills.

Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Microsoft Office and Mac platform proficiency.

Education And / Or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, Writing, Marketing, or equivalent.

8-10 years of writing/content development experience.

2-3 years of experience leading projects independently or with a team

Experience writing copy across digital channels, especially email which is a MUST, and experience with e-commerce is a strong plus.

Other Requirements

Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our (OFFICE LOCATION) office or global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.

Return To Work Designation: (1-2 OR 3-4 or FULLY IN OFFICE) days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.

Travel: 5% of the year
